How do I look up an emoji?
On the first screen, paste any emoji into the “Look up an emoji” box and it opens straight away. You can also type a name or keyword, or tap the arrow to browse the full list by category.
Why does a skin-tone emoji open a different one?
Variants such as 👍🏻 👍🏽 👍🏿 share a single page with the emoji they come from, because the meaning is the same. Use the tone selector on that page to switch between them.
What happens after the 14-day free trial?
Nothing is taken away entirely. You keep every emoji, its meaning, the visual description and how to say it. The in-depth notes — usage, context, examples, tone, slang and misunderstanding warnings — along with all curated sets, every quiz mode and unlimited saves, are unlocked by a one-time purchase.
I paid before and reinstalled. How do I get it back?
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchase. You will not be charged twice.
Some emojis show as empty boxes.
That means your device's operating system does not yet include the artwork for that emoji, usually because it is very new. The name and explanation still work. Updating iOS normally fixes it.
Why do emojis look different from my friend's phone?
Each platform draws emoji with its own font, so the same character looks different on iPhone, Android, Windows and elsewhere. The app deliberately uses your device's own emoji so you see them exactly as you would in a message.
Can I hide the slang explanations?
Yes. In Settings → Content level, choose Clean. This hides the informal slang notes, which is useful for classroom use and younger readers.
